The same goes in the Eastern Buckeye Conference boys golf. With the season winding down and Carrollton trailing conference leader Minerva, the Warriors took their best shot Aug. 28 at Great Trail Golf Course and connected, defeating the Lions 176-190 to forge a tie atop the conference standings.
Carrollton was led by Nevan Woods, who cruised to a 41 to pace the Warriors, while Nathan Sutton carded a 45. Michael Mullen and Parker Roudebush posted scores of 45 and 46, respectively, as Carrollton won on Minerva’s home course.
Both teams are now 7-1 in the EBC and both finish conference play against West Branch and Marlington before the EBC golf tourney Sept. 17.
