One of Historic Zoar Village’s most popular events, the annual Ghost Tours, will be offered Oct. 10-11, Oct. 17-18, Oct. 24-26, Oct. 31 and Nov. 1.
“This event gets more and more popular every year, so guests should book their reservation as soon as possible,” said Tammi Shrum, site director. “We hope everyone has a frightful time exploring the village and the haunted side of its history.”
Tours leave every 15 minutes beginning at 6:30 p.m., with the last group stepping off at 8:45 p.m. Each hour-long walking tour departs from the Zoar Store and winds through the 200-year-old village, where historical interpreters in period dress, residents, staff and paranormal investigators share haunted tales of Zoar. Free refreshments will be available in the Zoar Store after each tour.
The tours are recommended for adults and children over age 12. Tickets cost $19, and reservations are required. They may be made at historiczoarvillage.com/events or by calling 330-874-3011.
Zoar is also bringing back its Ghost Tour Dinners, offered as an add-on to the Ghost Tours or as a stand-alone meal. Dinner dates are Oct. 11, 17, 25 and 31. All meals will be served family style before the tours and include ghost-themed appetizers, salad, entrée, sides and devil’s food cake. Tickets cost $30 for dinner only or $49 for the dinner and a Ghost Tour. Reservations are required and may be purchased online.
Zoar will host trick-or-treat festivities Sunday, Oct. 26, from 1-3 p.m. with candy stops throughout the village. A costume parade and contest will follow at 3:30 p.m. in the Zoar Garden, with judging at 3:45 p.m. No reservations are required for the free family event.
