Early
on the morning of Monday, Aug. 18, AloNovus Corp will take a new step in
connecting our communities with the launch of YourOhioNews.com — a single,
unified website that brings together stories from all of our local newspapers.
Some
of you may not realize that the AloNovus family of publications now includes 12
weekly newspapers: The Holmes Bargain Hunter, Wayne Bargain Hunter and three
editions of the Tuscarawas Bargain Hunter; the Carrollton Free Press Standard;
the Coshocton Beacon; the Harrison News-Herald; the Hartville News; the Knox
Weekly News; the Medina Weekly; and the Wooster Weekly News.
For
more than 50 years, AloNovus publications have been a staple in the lives of
readers across the area, telling the stories that matter most — from city
council decisions and high school sports victories to profiles of inspiring
neighbors. Each newspaper reflects the personality of its community, but all
share a common mission: to inform, connect and serve.
Now,
that mission will expand to the digital space in a way we've never done before.
YourOhioNews.com
will be the online home for stories from every AloNovus paper, making it easier
than ever to keep up with your own community – and to discover what’s happening
just down the road. Whether you live in Holmes, Medina, Tuscarawas or Carroll
counties, or any of the other regions we serve, you'll find your local coverage
side-by-side with news from our other markets.
This
means that while you'll still enjoy the stories from your hometown newspaper,
you'll also gain a richer perspective on the people, places and events shaping
the wider region.
What
you can expect
— Local news: News and updates from all 12 AloNovus
communities, published online as stories develop.
— Sports coverage: Expanded reporting on high school
athletics, covering teams and athletes from multiple counties.
— Community features: Human-interest stories, profiles and
columns celebrating the heart and character of our local towns.
— Event information: A comprehensive calendar pulling
together festivals, fairs, concerts and community happenings from across the
state.
— Easy navigation: Browse by county, topic, or publication –
or search across the entire site to find exactly what you need.
In
today's fast-moving world, staying connected to your community is more
important than ever. While our print newspapers remain a vital part of our
identity, we also know readers want news when and where they need it – on
phones, tablets and computers, at any hour of the day.
By
creating YourOhioNews.com, we're building a bridge between our strong print
tradition and a dynamic, accessible online future. It's really the best of both
worlds.
We
see this website as a partnership with our readers. Your feedback, story tips and engagement will help YourOhioNews.com grow into a true community hub. We
encourage you to bookmark the site, share articles with friends and family, and
check back often for new stories.
On
Aug. 18, we'll flip the switch – and our area will have a new place to call its
online news home. Your stories, your neighbors, your events, your Ohio … all in
one place.
