Plans were discussed for attending the Strawberry Festival in Bolivar June 4-6
The Tusky Valley Ruritan Club met Tuesday, April 21, for its monthly dinner meeting at the Trojan Center in the administration building of the Tusky Valley School District in Zoarville.
Eleven members and nine guests attended. The meal was catered by Kathy’s Cookies, Candies & Catering and included chicken, tossed salad, rolls and butter, new potatoes and green beans. Cherry and chocolate delight were served for dessert. Drinks included lemonade, iced tea and water.
The club presented $1,000 scholarships to five Tusky Valley graduating seniors. Recipients were Maleah Dillon, Sami Ward, Cheyenne Kyriacou, Grace Glaser and Abram McElwee.
Club member Jim Downing reported repairs to the food trailer will be completed Saturday, in time for use at the Zoar Auction May 16.
Plans were discussed for attending the Strawberry Festival in Bolivar June 4-6. The club will have its food trailer at the event and will sell quarts of strawberries. A quilt made by club member Russell Dean will also be raffled. The Strawberry Festival is the club’s main fundraiser of the year.
The next meeting will be May 19 at 6 p.m. at the Trojan Center.
