Tuscarawas County art contest offers students chance to win smart board for their school

Rainbow Connection Telethon Art Contest open through Dec. 1; winning artwork will be featured on billboards and during live telethon.

The contest is open through Dec. 1, to all students in grades K-12 who attend school in Tuscarawas County.

The 2026 Rainbow Connection Telethon Art Contest is giving Tuscarawas County students the chance to win a smart board for their school district.

“We often buy smart boards for area schools to make classrooms more inclusive for all students,” said Perci Garner, executive director of the Rainbow Connection. “We’re hoping this incentive will encourage students throughout Tuscarawas County to not only participate in our art contest but also provide one of them the opportunity to experience the benefits of this device in their classrooms.”

The contest is open through Dec. 1, to all students in grades K-12 who attend school in Tuscarawas County. Students must submit original artwork on 8.5-by-11-inch paper to their art teacher, school office, local library or the Rainbow Connection office. The student’s name, phone number, grade and school district should be written on the back of the entry.

“We can only do our work because of those who support us,” Garner said. “We’re excited to help our young artists do the same by giving them the opportunity to use their talents to give back to their school and community.”

The Rainbow Connection Telethon will be broadcast live Sunday, March 8, 2026. The grand-prize winner’s artwork will appear on billboards promoting the event, along with the faces of the top 10 winners. Canvases from the top 10 artists will also be auctioned during the telethon. Artwork from past winners can be viewed at tuscrainbow.org.
