Ohio State Highway Patrol investigating fatal crash in Tuscarawas County
The driver was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene
The New Philadelphia Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a single-vehicle fatal crash that occurred on County Road 4, also known as Stocker Ridge Road, in Oxford Township.
At approximately 6:16 p.m. Dec. 3, a 2009 Dodge Ram 1500 was traveling south on County Road 4 when it went off the right side of the roadway, struck an embankment and overturned into a tree.
The driver, Howard Boor Jr., 39, of Newcomerstown, was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Tuscarawas County Coroner’s Office.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Tuscarawas County Coroner’s Office, Newcomerstown Fire Department, Tri-County Joint Ambulance and Finlayson’s Towing.
Alcohol is suspected to be a factor. The crash remains under investigation.
