Mobile Meals seeks volunteers in Tuscarawas County
Immediate volunteer openings are available in Sugarcreek and Strasburg
Mobile Meals is seeking volunteer drivers and inside packers to help deliver meals in New Philadelphia, Dover, Strasburg, Sugarcreek and Bolivar.
The nonprofit organization delivers two meals each weekday, except major holidays, to more than 90 customers in those communities. Service is available regardless of age.
Immediate volunteer openings are available in Sugarcreek and Strasburg.
Volunteer drivers use their own vehicles and serve one day a week for about an hour. Pickup times vary by route and begin between 12:05 and 12:30 p.m. Meals are picked up curbside on Medical Park Drive on the north side of Union Hospital. Drivers deliver assigned routes with three to eight homes and return empty coolers to the pickup location when finished.
Inside packers also serve one day a week, helping pack meals prepared by Union Hospital kitchen staff and clean coolers when drivers return. Hours are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and a free lunch is provided.
For more information or to volunteer, call the Mobile Meals office at 330-364-0870 weekdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Mobile Meals is a nonprofit organization with 501(c)(3) status.
