Little Theatre of Tuscarawas County will open its 2025-26 season with the world’s longest running play, Agatha Christie’s “The Mousetrap.” Performances are scheduled Oct. 3-19, with Friday and Saturday shows at 7 p.m. and Sunday matinees at 2:30 p.m.

Having celebrated 300,000 performances this year, “The Mousetrap” continues to be a sellout in London. The classic whodunit is set in England in the years after World War II. When a local woman is murdered, the guests and staff at Monkswell Manor are stranded in a snowstorm. Suspicion mounts as it becomes clear the killer is among them.

“It has been an incredible thrill for this talented cast to discover Agatha Christie’s brilliant writing during rehearsals,” said Director Don Irven. “She does such a clever job of making twists and turns genuinely surprising. At one point or another, you are sure that any one of them may be a murderer.”

The cast includes Bart Herman, Chester Boffo, Alison Foutz, Tim Charlton, Cheryl Foutz, Conner Limbaugh, Madison Kearney and Casey McMillan. Brian Keith will perform the role of Major Metcalf Friday, Oct. 17.

Production staff assisting Irven include Elizabeth Thomakos, assistant director; Chelsea Rhodes, stage manager; Chester Boffo and Joe Compton, scenic design; Compton, lighting design; Matt Spies and Morgan Marshal, technical/paint crew; Pam Douglas and Kathy Commings, props; Marianne Hughes, costumes; Thomakos, costumes assistant; Irven, sound design; Seth Rhodes, light board operator; Rhodes, sound operator; Debi Devore, hair and wigs; Kait Gallagher-Wilsterman, social media; Lee Elliott, publicity; Kathy Bergstrom, poster and logo design; and April Bonvechio, producer.

Tickets are $20 and may be purchased at the door, by calling the Kent State Tuscarawas Performing Arts Center box office at 330-308-6400, in person during business hours or online at thelittletheatreonline.org.

“The Mousetrap” is sponsored by Virginia and Todd Whetstone and Mike and Elizabeth Lauber. Season sponsors are Dover Eagles #515 and Roger and Mary Spies. The Little Theatre is located at 466 Carrie Ave. NW in New Philadelphia.
