Fairless board taps Cathy Soehnlen to fill vacant seat

Soehnlen will complete Dr. Jody Seward’s unexpired term through 2025; additional vacancy to be posted in January.

The Fairless Board of Education has selected Cathy Soehnlen to complete the unexpired term of Dr. Jody Seward through Dec. 31, pending board approval at the Dec. 16 meeting. Seward resigned Nov. 20, citing personal reasons, after serving 28 years on the Fairless BOE.

Soehnlen was elected Nov. 4 to a four-year term beginning Jan. 1, 2026.

Board members Charlie Snyder and Hope Hill did not seek re-election in November.

In January, the board will post a vacancy to fill the unexpired term for which Seward was re-elected Nov. 4. That term runs through Dec. 31, 2027.
