Medina County District Library locations are official voter registration sites recognized by the Ohio Secretary of State, giving residents convenient access to register to vote, change an address or update a last name with the Board of Elections. Services are available using paper forms or online at the library’s public computers.
Teens who turn 18 on or before Election Day are eligible to register and cast a ballot in the general election.
Library officials remind voters to be mindful of deadlines, which vary depending on whether forms are submitted at an MCDL branch, the Board of Elections or online. The deadline to register at a library is Oct. 2, while forms will be accepted until Oct. 6 at the Board of Elections or online. Absentee ballot applications are due Oct. 23 at library locations or Oct. 28 at the Board of Elections.
Early voting begins Oct. 7 at the Board of Elections. Completed absentee ballots must be postmarked by Nov. 3 or delivered to the Board of Elections by 7:30 p.m. on Election Night, Nov. 5. The general election takes place Nov. 4, with polls open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
In addition to registration services, MCDL provides information to help answer questions about local, state, primary and general elections. Nearly a dozen trusted, nonpartisan websites are available through the library, along with links to voter registration, address changes and absentee ballot requests at mcdl.info/Vote.
