Medina Sunrise Rotary
Medina Sunrise Rotarians gathered beneath the burr oak tree on the southwest side of Medina Public Square to celebrate 31 years of “Service Above Self” to the community and beyond.
The tree, which came from the Chicago home of Rotary founder Paul Harris, was planted in 1994 when Medina Sunrise Rotary was formed.
Since then, the club has donated more than $1.5 million in grants to the Medina community, supporting more than 20 charities, Rotary Youth Exchange, and college and vocational scholarships while performing multiple service projects each year.
Medina Sunrise Rotary is a 501(c)(4) nonprofit service organization with low administrative costs. Its stewardship ensures grants have a meaningful impact. This year, with community support, the club made a $100,000 major gift commitment to help Akron Children’s Hospital expand its presence in Medina County.
Tax-deductible donations can be made to Medina Sunrise Rotary’s 501(c)(3) Donor Advised Fund with The Rotary Foundation.
