The Medina County Arts Council (MCAC) is pleased to announce its Board of Trustees will award multiple one-time scholarships totaling $3,000 to graduating seniors in the Class of 2026 who have been actively involved in the arts.
Last year, the scholarship program was officially renamed the Nancy Sprowls MCAC Student Scholarship in honor of MCAC founding member Nancy Sprowls (1931-2022). The fund was established by the Sprowls family to recognize Nancy’s lasting commitment to arts education and her foundational role in building the Medina County Arts Council.
Applications will be accepted through March 15, from graduating seniors residing in Medina County who have been actively involved in the arts during high school. Eligible disciplines include, but are not limited to, music, visual art, theater, dance and creative writing.
Applicants must declare a major in an arts-related field. While a transcript is required, no minimum GPA is required for eligibility. Scholarship funds may be used toward tuition, books and other school supplies.
The online application is available on the MCAC High School Scholarship Program page or at medinacountyartscouncil.org/scholarships.
MCAC established its arts scholarship program in 2017 to support Medina County graduating seniors who plan to pursue further education and training in the arts. In keeping with its mission to promote and build community excellence through the arts, MCAC awards scholarships annually to help emerging artists study, develop and practice their craft.

“Renaming this scholarship in honor of Nancy Sprowls is a meaningful way to recognize her vision and lifelong dedication to arts education in our community,” said Kelly Parks, an MCAC board trustee. “Through this program, MCAC is proud to support graduating seniors who have been actively engaged in the arts and are continuing their education at a technical school, a two-year or four-year institution, or through training and certification for an arts-related career.”
Established in 1983, the Medina County Arts Council is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the support and promotion of the arts, individual artists, arts organizations and arts education in Medina County. Each year, MCAC provides grants to local organizations, schools and communities promoting the arts and maintains a scholarship program for graduating seniors. These grants and scholarships are made possible through generous contributions and income from MCAC fundraisers.
