Grab your popcorn and get ready to enjoy a packed slate of
highly anticipated books coming to theaters or streaming services in 2026. A few
adaptations that have already been released this year include “His & Hers”
by Alice Feeney, “People We Meet on Vacation” by Emily Henry and “The Seven
Dials Mystery” by Agatha Christie, all of which are available to stream on
Netflix.
Each of the following books is available to borrow through
the Coshocton County Library System or digitally through the Libby app:
—“Wuthering Heights” by Emily Brontë. Perhaps the most
haunting and tragic love story ever written, this gripping chronicle of the
never-ending conflict between the heart and the mind endures as one of the world’s
greatest classics of English literature. The new movie starring Margot Robbie
and Jacob Elordi comes to theaters Friday, Feb. 13.
—“Reminders of Him” by Colleen Hoover. A troubled young
mother yearns for a shot at redemption in this heartbreaking yet hopeful story.
The theater's release date is Monday, March 16.
—“Project Hail Mary” by Andy Weir. A lone astronaut must save
the Earth from disaster in this cinematic thriller full of suspense, humor and
fascinating science. The movie stars Ryan Gosling and is set to be released Friday, March 20.
—“Remarkably Bright Creatures” by Shelby Van Pelt. For fans
of “A Man Called Ove,” this debut novel explores friendship, reckoning and
hope through a widow’s unlikely connection with a giant Pacific octopus. The movie
will be released Friday, May 8 on Netflix.

—“The Odyssey” by Homer. This epic classic of a hero’s
journey home will be made into a fantasy action film directed by Christopher
Nolan and released into theaters Friday, July 17.
—“Verity” by Colleen Hoover. This psychological thriller follows
a struggling writer who is hired to finish a famous author’s bestselling series
after an accident incapacitates her. The movie will star Anne Hathaway and
Dakota Johnson and is set to be released in theaters Friday, Oct. 2.
—“Remain” by Nicholas Sparks and M. Night Shyamalan. This
one-of-a-kind novel grapples with the supernatural mysteries of life, death and human connection. The movie is set to be released in theaters Friday, Oct. 23, starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Phoebe Dynevor.
—“Sunrise on the Reaping” by Suzanne Collins. This prequel to
the “Hunger Games” trilogy features Haymitch’s story during the 50th annual
Hunger Games and Quarter Quell. The movie is set to be released in theaters Friday, Nov. 20.
—“Dune Messiah” by Frank Herbert. Hailed as the bestselling
science fiction adventure of all time, this second book in the "Magnificent Dune
Chronicles" will be featured in "Dune: Part Three," which comes to theaters Friday, Dec. 18.
