Ridgewood Generals move to Division V
OHSAA announces 2026 football divisions
The Ohio High School Athletic Association announced the new divisional breakdowns and playoff regions for the 2026 football season.
A total of 37 schools moved up a division from their 2025 assignment, which is due to the 2026-27 school year being the start of a new enrollment cycle and/or also the OHSAA’s competitive balance process.
Locally, Ridgewood moves up from Division VI to Div. V. The Generals will be one of the smallest schools playing in Div. V with a competitive balance enrollment number of 150. Schools with 149-107 were assigned to Div. VI.
Coshocton and River View also will play in Div. V, Region 19, which extends west to Franklin County and south to Southern Ohio with powerhouses Wheelersburg and Ironton.
Divisional assignments remain unchanged for Newcomerstown and Tri-Valley. The Trojans remain in Div. VI while Tri-Valley will again play in Div. III.
