Student creativity shines at Medina schools’ annual Pancake Breakfast
Community event Jan. 24 at Medina High School featured student performances, artwork and family-friendly fun
Medina City Schools hosted its annual Community Pancake Breakfast and Spotlight on Students on Saturday, Jan. 24, from 8 a.m. to noon in the main cafeteria at Medina High School. Despite cold winter weather, the event was well attended by families and community members.
Attendees enjoyed a breakfast of pancakes, bacon, syrup, milk, juice, coffee, tea and hot chocolate while experiencing a morning of student talent and creativity. Live performances were held from 9 a.m. to noon and featured students from all grade levels. Elementary choirs entertained the crowd, along with a special appearance by the Sparkle Cheerleaders. Highlight performances included the Medina High School Stardusters Jazz Ensemble and Encore Entertainment Company, the high school’s show choir.
In addition to the performances, student artwork from elementary through high school was displayed throughout the venue, showcasing a wide range of artistic talent across the district.
The district thanked event sponsors Acme Fresh Market, Borden, Discount Drug Mart and Huntington Bank, as well as the many volunteers who helped make the Community Pancake Breakfast and Spotlight on Students a success. Net proceeds from ticket sales will benefit the Medina City Schools Foundation.
