May is National Women’s Health Month. It’s a great time for women of all ages to focus on their health. By taking care of your body and mind now, you can stay healthy for years to come.

The Medina County Health Department wants to help you build healthy habits. Regular checkups can help prevent serious problems like heart disease, diabetes and bone loss, or osteoporosis.

Health services for women

The Health Center at the Medina County Health Department offers many services to help you stay well and plan for your future:

  • Yearly checkups: Routine visits to see how your body is doing.
  • Cancer screenings: Quick tests to find breast or cervical cancer early, when it’s easiest to treat.
  • Healthy pregnancy planning: Doctor visits to help you get your body ready for a future baby.
  • Birth control: Many options to help you prevent pregnancy.
  • Family planning: Expert help with your goals for having a family.
  • STI testing: Private testing and medicine for infections passed through sex.

The department does more than just women’s health. Its clinics also offer high-quality medical and dental care for everyone. The department accepts Medicaid, Medicare, private insurance and self-pay patients and has clinic locations in both Medina and Wadsworth.
