Driver dies after crashing into Sharon Township home

Authorities say medical emergency may have caused vehicle to leave state Route 94, strike residence

Michael Kellish, 56, died after authorities said he may have suffered a medical emergency before his truck left state Route 94 and struck a Sharon Township residence.

The Medina County Sheriff's Office responded to a fatal single-vehicle crash June 10 in the 7700 block of state Route 94, also known as Ridge Road, in Sharon Township.

The crash occurred at about 4:50 p.m. and involved a 2019 Ford F-350 driven by Michael Kellish, 56. According to a preliminary investigation, Kellish was the sole occupant of the vehicle and may have experienced a medical emergency while traveling north on state Route 94.

The vehicle traveled off the right side of the road and struck a residence.

Kellish was transported by Sharon EMS to Summa Health Wadsworth-Rittman Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

The crash remains under investigation by the Medina County Sheriff's Office. The Wadsworth Police Department, Sharon Fire and Rescue, and the Medina County All Hazards Structural Collapse Team assisted at the scene.
