Medina Community Church names Simon Bartos as new pastor
Local native succeeds longtime pastor Doug Davidson and will be installed Feb. 1
Medina Community Church has announced the arrival of its new pastor, Simon Bartos, who will be officially installed Feb. 1, succeeding Pastor Doug Davidson, who served the church for 38 years.
Bartos brings local roots and pastoral experience to the role. He and his wife, Lauren, both Medina natives, are raising their four children in Lafayette Township. Bartos was first called to pastoral ministry in 2019 and previously served as an associate pastor at a local Medina church, where he oversaw family discipleship, youth and children’s ministries.
Bartos holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in civil and environmental engineering from The Ohio State University and is currently pursuing a Master of Divinity degree at Emmaus Theological Seminary in Cleveland Heights. He is passionate about equipping families for faithful discipleship, teaching Scripture with doctrinal precision, and helping the church fully understand the freedom found in Christ.
Members of the MCC congregation have become familiar with Bartos over the past several years through his preaching and during the church’s pastoral search process. Church leaders said they are excited to welcome him and his family and believe his heart for serving the Medina community aligns closely with the church’s mission.
Bartos will be officially installed by the elders of Medina Community Church on Feb. 1 at 9:30 a.m., with a reception to follow. The community is invited to attend.
