Vicious Biscuit, the fast-growing Southern-inspired breakfast and brunch chain known for its bold biscuit creations and playful “breakfast rebellion” attitude, will open its second Ohio location next year in Medina.
The restaurant will open in the second quarter of 2026 at 4136 Pearl Road, in the former Fiesta Jalapeños building in front of Home Depot. The 3,778-square-foot space will feature the brand’s signature mix of comfort food, creative flair and modern brunch culture.
The new spot will be operated by franchisee Carl Albright, who, along with partners Dave Ost and Ken Troutman, introduced Vicious Biscuit to Ohio with the opening of its Montrose location in May 2024.
“Opening our first Vicious Biscuit in Montrose was an incredible experience, and the community response has been overwhelming,” Albright said. “Medina has everything and continues to grow, so we just knew it was the perfect place for our second location. We’re looking forward to bringing the Vicious Biscuit breakfast revolution here and creating another spot where friends and families can gather around the table for our unrivaled Southern hospitality and irresistible biscuit entrees.”
Vicious Biscuit’s menu features its over-the-top biscuit sandwiches such as The Vicious, Fat Boy, The Flame Thrower and Hen Solo, along with shareable favorites like Sweet Puppies, beignets and shrimp and grits. Guests can also enjoy the brand’s popular “Jam Bar,” featuring signature jams and house-made butters, plus fresh-squeezed mimosas and other brunch cocktails. Healthier and gluten-free menu options will also be available.
The restaurant chain, founded in 2017 in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, has earned national attention for its creative approach to breakfast and its lively, community-focused atmosphere. Co-founder and CEO George McLaughlin said he’s thrilled to see Albright continue to expand the brand’s Ohio presence.
“Carl and his partners played a pivotal role in bringing the very first Vicious Biscuit franchise to life in Montrose, and his passion for the brand has been clear from the start,” McLaughlin said. “We’re excited to see him continue that journey by opening in Medina and helping us grow our presence across Northeast Ohio.”
Vicious Biscuit operates locations in South Carolina, North Carolina and Florida, with franchise sites in Louisiana, Mississippi and Ohio, and plans to expand to 44 additional locations nationwide.
