Love Center serves 250 families in March

Food distribution tops 41,000 pounds with 900 volunteer hours

The Love Center served 250 families in March across 340 visits, distributing more than 41,000 pounds of food with the help of 900 volunteer hours and community donations.

A total of 250 different families came to the Love Center during March. Some families came in more than once, making a total of 340 visits. Food from the Akron-Canton Regional Food Bank was 29,199 pounds, and food donated by businesses, churches and individuals was 12,346 pounds. Volunteer hours served at the Love Center totaled 900.

Food and cash donations from churches and ministries included Bethel Fellowship Church, Clark Church, Martins Creek Mennonite Church, Millersburg Methodist Community Church, St. John’s Church of Walnut Creek, St. John’s Women’s Ministry of Millersburg, The Church of Christ and Zion Reformed Church.

Food and cash donations from businesses, organizations and clubs included Ace Hardware, Berlin Natural Bakery, Der Dutchman, Double F Event Center, Emma Cates Crust Bakery, Farm Bureau, Farmside Country Store, Farmerstown Auction, Hershberger Farm & Bakery, Hillcrest Orchard, Jitter’s Coffee House, Kauffman Bakery, Miller Custom Vending, Mt. Hope Health Store and Walmart of Millersburg.

Food and cash donations from individuals included Michelle Alexander, Brian Barbey, Ray Casdorph, Elaine Coblentz, Robert Croft, Kay Earney, Debra Eckelberry, Kayleen Elliott, Anita Hall, Marvin and Ruth Hershberger, Sue Kauffman, Aden Keim, Carita Keim, Jean Lefurgey, Christina Leyda, Betty Mullet, Heidi Schlabach, Robert Starner, Katharyn Wheeler, David Yoder, Katie Yoder, Sam Yoder and seven anonymous.

Cash contributions for the general fund can be sent to P.O. Box 31, Millersburg, OH 44654. Food donations can be dropped off at the Love Center at 1291 Massillon Road, Suite A, Millersburg, any Monday, Wednesday or Friday.
