Holmes County 4-H Shooting Sports Club packs bags for veterans
Members also discussed demonstrations, safety and upcoming fair plans
The Holmes County 4-H Shooting Sports Club met recently at Eastern Holmes Sportsman Club.
Club President Zander Croskey opened the meeting for business.
The United States flag pledge was led by Zander Croskey. The 4-H flag pledge was led by Lelynd Edens-Hamilton. The secretary’s report was given by Secretary Cameron Hinton. The treasurer’s report was given by Treasurer JC Baker.
Vice President Braxton Tish led members in a discussion and demonstration of a 10-gauge shotgun.
Community service projects were discussed.
The Holmes County Fair and 4-H booth theme were discussed. Club members discussed possible demonstration ideas that could be brought to meetings to satisfy the 4-H members’ responsibilities.
Vayda Sage led a group discussion on ticks and tick safety.
Safety Officer Baker led the group in a safety discussion.
Health Officer Edens-Hamilton led the group in a health discussion on the safety of staying hydrated.
Refreshments were furnished by the Croskey family.
Refreshments for the June 13 meeting will be furnished by the Bailey family.
Club members and family members packed 50 thank-you bags, along with thank-you notes, to Holmes County veterans through the Holmes County Veterans Administration Office.
The project was co-sponsored by Larry Habrun of Habruns Insurance Service.
Disciplines club members participated in were rifle, shotgun and archery.
The next meeting of the Holmes County 4-H Shooting Sports Club will be held from noon to 2 p.m. June 13 at the Eastern Holmes Sportsman Club, 6781 Township Road 310, Millersburg.
