The Lake Community Hope Scholarship Fund is again collecting receipts from Acme Fresh Market as part of Acme’s Community Cash Back Program.
Purchases of items from participating brands — including Acme, Food Club, TopCare and Paws — earn 5% cash back. Receipts must be dated between Aug. 1, 2025, and Feb. 15, 2026. The money raised will support the Lake Community Hope Scholarship Fund in memory of Melissa, Renee, Amber and Evan Dunham.
Receipts can be dropped off at several locations. Dr. Michael Mead Jr., DDS, Inc., 12981 Cleveland Ave. NW in Uniontown, will accept receipts during office hours Monday through Thursday, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Berthiaumes Team at Keller Williams Chervenic Realty, 234 S. Water St. in Kent, has a 24/7 drop envelope mounted on the front window. The Uniontown Police Department, 1635 Edison St. NW in Uniontown, accepts receipts Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., excluding holidays. The Green Tennis Club, 3937 Glen Eagles Blvd. in Uniontown, has a marked envelope on its lobby bulletin board available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. Organizations interested in serving as additional drop-off locations can email lakecommunityhope@gmail.com.
The Dunhams, Lake Township residents who died in August 2023, were passionate volunteers in the Akron-Canton region, especially in Lake Township. The surviving family established the scholarship through the Stark Community Foundation to support a graduating Lake High School senior who demonstrates outstanding involvement in extracurricular activities and community service.
The first recipient, Adam Hess, a 2025 Lake graduate, is now a freshman studying computer engineering at Ohio Northern University. Melissa Dunham was an alumna of Lake, where her three children attended school.
In addition to the receipt program, donations to the fund can be made online at Stark Community Foundation’s website. The third annual 5K/Fun Run benefiting the fund is tentatively planned for August 2026.
