An educational symposium hosted by the Harrison and Jefferson County master gardener volunteers will invite community members to step into the woods for a morning of discovery, creativity and practical gardening knowledge.
The Into the Woods garden symposium will take place Saturday, April 25, from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Scio Branch Library downstairs meeting room, 331 W. Main St., Scio. Doors will open at 8:30 a.m., and presentations will begin at 9 a.m.
The program will feature sessions on foraging, fairy gardens, log-grown mushrooms, mushroom cultivation, and shade and moss gardening. Attendees also will receive take-home leaf castings, have the chance to win door prizes and take part in a hands-on educational experience led by Master Gardener Volunteers.
The cost is $30 per person and includes lunch, refreshments and morning snacks.
