The Harrison County Regional Chamber of Commerce held its monthly meeting March 19 at Cadiz Country Club. Twenty-two business owners and representatives attended the meeting. The month’s special guest speaker was Kodi Brock, co-owner of Tappan Lakeside Resort and Tappan Lakeside Store, which includes the Tappan Lakeside Bar and Restaurant.

“My husband and I have been in business for around four years,” said Brock. “Our main business has been in construction. I went to Conotton Valley High School, and my husband, Lawton, went to Dover. So, we are kind of local.

Brock said they are expanding the restaurant and bar and adding an indoor pool near the cabins. "The existing recreation center has an arcade and a pool table," said Brock. "Also, the cabins are suited for family accommodations. The rates for the cabins are seasonal. Those rates are usually during the period beginning with Memorial Day through Labor Day. The cabins are designed and come in three different accommodation needs.”

“All of you are doing a great job here in Harrison County and the surrounding area,” said HCRCC Executive Director Milo Baker. “If you have not seen the handouts for the Silver Spade, the information includes a prize drawing from $100 up to $500. Please pick up some of the fliers before you leave. The history of these mighty machines is astounding. Inside the handout you will find a list of the businesses that are carrying a 10-by-10 wood-burned etched plaque of the spade. Follow the instructions. Remember that you must enter a three-digit code that is connected with the prize drawing.”

The next meeting is April 16 at Mark in the Park on the stage in Sally Buffalo Park. The May meeting will be at Zion Retreat. A catered meal will be provided.

“I want to thank you all for attending," said Baker. "Your gifts to your patrons are getting a lot of attention and are appreciated. We all are very appreciative of what you are doing. See you next month.”
