Following the 2025-26 winter sports season, Harrison Central had three athletes recognized on the selection committee report card. District officials credited strong coaching and fan support as athletes Bryson Kamarec, Aiden Hensley and Jaylie Byers earned the honor.

In basketball, Kamarec helped lead the Huskies in several key games. In wrestling, Hensley earned recognition as a promising young standout with three seasons still ahead of him. In bowling, Byers added her name to the 2025-26 season highlight list.

“Bryson is the type of person and player that all coaches want in their program,” Harrison Central boys basketball coach Nick Yourkovich said. “He has a relentless work ethic, tremendous character, and drive both on the court and in the classroom. Bryson is also a great teammate who was always willing to help other guys out when they were struggling. He deserves all of the accolades he has received. I am extremely proud of him.”

Kamarec averaged 17.9 points and 8.2 rebounds per game and shot 79% from the foul line.

He also earned first-team All-OVAC, first-team Buckeye 8, first-team All-East District, special mention All-Ohio Division V, first-team District V, OVAC All-Star and District V All-Star honors.

“Aiden was 19-4 on the season with 11 wins via pinfall,” Harrison Central wrestling coach Bill Bryant said. “All 4 of his losses were low-scoring decision losses against state-caliber wrestlers. He placed in all 3 tournaments he competed in this season before being sidelined with injuries. He opened the season with a first-place finish at the Wayne Invitational Tournament at Smithville and followed that up with two fifth-place finishes at the Doan Ford Invitational in Barnesville and the West Jefferson Invitational.”

“Aiden is a hard worker in the wrestling room and will drive anywhere to get a solid workout in,” Bryant added. “He is constantly going to new and old places to better himself. Wrestling is his life and he has set some lofty yet attainable goals with his commitment level. We are excited about what the next 3 years bring Aiden and the Harrison Central wrestling program. Go Huskies!”

“There is one thing about Jaylie that I must say: Whether it be practice or during matches, she arrived to become better with her overall game,” bowling coach Jim Runevich said. “During the season, her determination was always evident. She had and continued to maintain that desire to get better and become a winner on and off the lanes.”

Byers also earned several honors after the season, including first-team All-OVAC, Buckeye 8 all-tournament team and Indian Valley Invitational all-tournament team. She also tied the Harrison Central girls high-game record with a 247.
