Harrison Central’s Walters selected for Ohio North-South All-Star Game

Walters, a 6-foot-8, 330-pound right tackle, was selected to the South All-Star Team for Divisions IV-VII

Dylan Walters of Harrison Central High School will play for the South team in the 81st Ohio North-South All-Star Football Game, set for Saturday, April 25, at Paul Brown Tiger Stadium in Massillon.

Walters, a 6-foot-8, 330-pound right tackle, was selected to the South All-Star Team for Divisions IV-VII. The Ohio North-South game is the oldest all-star football game in the nation.

A kickoff luncheon for players, families and coaches was held Feb. 12 at the Columbus Hilton. The first practice took place Sunday, April 12, at Wittenberg University. Players will check into the Embassy Suites in North Canton Wednesday, April 22, and stay through Friday.

Players will be bused to and from Paul Brown Tiger Stadium for practices. Activities during the week include a dinner for players and cheerleaders Thursday evening at the Massillon Recreation Center, a Friday visit to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton and a formal reception and dinner Friday evening at La Pizzeria for players and their families.

The Division I-III game will kick off at 11 a.m. The Divisions IV-VII game will be played in 30-minute halves following the first game, at about 1:30 p.m.

Admission is $10 and tickets may be purchased only on game day. The stadium is located at 1 Paul E. Brown Drive SE, Massillon.

South head coach is Shawn Buescher of West Jefferson High School. Walters’ offensive line coach is Jay Lucas of Coal Grove High School.

Walters also has been selected to play in the annual Rudy Mumley OVAC All-Star Football Game.
