WVU Medicine Harrison Community Hospital received $15,100 from Sean Carney’s 14th annual Blues for a Cure concert.

The yearly event raises funds for the Harrison Community Hospital Foundation Cancer Fund and the Harrison County Cancer Crusaders. Proceeds help Harrison County residents undergoing cancer treatment with medical-related travel costs, treatment expenses and basic living needs.

“We are grateful for the continued generosity of our community and its commitment to supporting individuals who need financial assistance while battling cancer,” Judy Bruno, president and CEO of Harrison Community Hospital, said. “If you know of a cancer patient in need of help — whether for transportation to treatment or necessary medical equipment — please encourage them to call 740-942-6206.”

This year’s concert featured John Nemeth & The Blue Dreamers, JP Soars’ Gypsy Blue Revue featuring Anne Harris, Jimmy Adler, Electric Mud, Sean Carney, Jake Friel and Gabe Stillman.

“It was an honor once again to host Sean Carney’s Blues for a Cure 2025 with such a stellar lineup of talent, all while raising money to help those afflicted with cancer in Harrison County,” event organizer Mark Puskarich said. “Since our first Sally Buffalo Park concert in 2012, we’ve raised more than $320,000 with this annual event. We look forward to hosting the June 26-27 event with headliner The Gabe Stillman Band.”
