On Nov. 22 the Black Bears started the varsity boys bowling season off at Sunrise Bowling Center for the Tri-Valley Rich Huntsman Memorial Tournament. The Black Bears fought their way through qualifying to finish in the fifth spot for match play. In match play they struggled and were defeated, finishing the day in fifth place out of 16 teams.
Leading the way for River View was senior Carter Hammersley with a three-game set of 258, 246, 209 for a 713 series, which is the new school record. He also got first place in the all-tournament team individuals. Senior Konner Mercer had a three-game set of 221, 190, 212 for a 623 (PR) series. Junior Kolton Duff had a three-game set of 576. Sophomore Gavin Gress had a three-game set of 160, 177 (PR), 148 for a 485 series. Junior Zane Cunningham had a 450 (PR) series.
On Nov. 24 the Black Bears traveled to Boulevard Lanes to take on Claymont. The Black Bears came out on top defeating Claymont 2,099-1,380.
Leading the way for the Black Bears was senior Carter Hammersley with a two-game set of 435 and junior Kolton Duff with a two-game set of 416. Also chipping in was Gavin Gress with a 172 (PR) game and Colton Gress with a 143 (PR) game.
