Coshocton Library launches adult summer challenge
Sibert named January Elks Teen of the Month at River View
Senior recognized for leadership, service and academic involvement at Coshocton County high school
Catherine Sibert is River View’s Elks Teen of the Month for January. She is the daughter of Krista and Jeff Sibert of Coshocton.
Sibert has been involved in the following school activities: cross country (team captain for two years), track and field, National Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society, Art Club, and Spirit Club.
In addition to her school involvement, Sibert is completing two senior projects. One focuses on painting murals throughout River View High School while the other involves running a website that keeps students and families up to date on scholarships, important events and other school information. Through her painting project alone, she has already accumulated nearly 150 hours of community service and plans to exceed 200 hours by the time the project is complete.
Her community involvement includes being selected as the 2025 Frontier Power Youth Tour delegate. This opportunity allows students chosen by local electric cooperatives from across the country to travel to Washington, D.C. for one week in June at no cost.
Recently, Sibert worked with Frontier Power to encourage more students to participate in the program by speaking at a Frontier Power board meeting and presenting her experience to River View sophomores and juniors. Along with this, she served as a sixth grade camp counselor this year and has volunteered at several Mobile Markets, helping distribute food to community members.
Upon graduation Sibert plans to major in radiologic science or medical laboratory science to pursue a career in cancer diagnostics, with the goal of one day going back to school to become a cancer researcher.
