Meet Me at the Museum returns Nov. 6 with discussion on wabi-sabi
Free lunchtime program at Johnson-Humrickhouse Museum invites visitors to share objects that celebrate beauty in imperfection
Meet Me at the Museum will return to the Johnson-Humrickhouse Museum on Thursday, Nov. 6 from noon to 1 p.m. Bring a lunch or get some snacks on the museum as you gather and discuss a new topic each time. No registration is needed. This program is offered at no charge and made possible by the support of the Ohio Arts Council.
The topic for November will be wabi-sabi. Wabi-sabi is a traditional Japanese philosophy and aesthetic that celebrates the simple and humble, embracing flaws and wear as elements of authentic beauty, rather than striving for unattainable perfection. Bring a wabi-sabi artifact from your own life, something that has the veneer of age and imperfection but is even more precious because of it.
The Johnson-Humrickhouse Museum is in Historic Roscoe Village at 300 N. Whitewoman St. in Coshocton. Museum hours are Tuesday through Sunday from noon to 4 p.m., and all Sundays are free admission to Coshocton County residents.
