Malatesta named Pomerene director of laboratory services

Pomerene Hospital announced the promotion of Tony Malatesta to director of laboratory services. This advancement reflects his leadership, technical expertise and dedication to supporting patient care.

Malatesta rejoined Pomerene in 2023 and has played an essential role in strengthening the hospital’s laboratory operations. His accomplishments include upgrading key laboratory equipment, improving workflow efficiency, and transitioning multiple tests back in-house to enhance service quality and turnaround times. These improvements have contributed to greater operational efficiency across the department and increased support for clinical teams throughout the hospital.

In his new role, Malatesta will continue leading laboratory staff and advancing strategic initiatives that expand and improve diagnostic services for the community.
