Joe and Gwen Wells receive Community Service Award at Coshocton County Fair
Couple recognized for more than 40 years of volunteer work, from guarding barns to supporting the art hall and poultry barn
Joe and Gwen Wells were honored during the Coshocton County Fair opening ceremony for all the behind-the-scenes work they do.
This is the eighth year for the Community Service Award presented by Rick Williamson and Jon Ianniello.
“They see what needs done and without hesitation get it done,” Williamson said.
Joe Wells has served as a barn guard for more than 40 years, and Gwen Wells is a creative force in the art hall. They help with the River View food stand, and in the past decade, they have become a big help in the poultry barn, cleaning feeders and vacuuming pens.
“Volunteers like them make the fair happen,” Williamson said.
