Invite Jesus into your life this Christmas

A reflection on the birth of Christ, the message given to the shepherds and the invitation of salvation offered to all who believe.

So I can picture the moment when Jesus was born. The angels in heaven are gathered around the throne of God. He has called them to go to the Earth. They are about to be sent with a message. Their message is the message the world has been waiting to hear.

The multitude of angels are waiting to go to the kings. They are waiting to go to the military leaders. They are waiting to go to the revolutionaries. They are waiting to go to the religious leaders. They want the world to know. They want the powerful people, the decision makers, the oppressors, the greedy, the selfish to know that Messiah is born.

No longer will those in power control the lives of those who believe. No longer will those who believe be held prisoner. No longer will those who believe be wounded. No longer will sin be the victorious force on Earth.

But the Lord doesn’t let them go to the kings, the warriors, the religious elite. But the Lord doesn’t let them go all at once. The Lord sends one angel. The Lord sends that one angel to the shepherds. What keeps you from telling others about Jesus? We know it isn’t the Lord.

Jesus has entered our world. He has taken away the sin of all those who believe in him. As you celebrate Christmas, remember you are celebrating the birth of Jesus, the Savior of the world. You are invited to give your life to Jesus by simply confessing you need a savior because you are a sinner. Invite Jesus into your life.
