Help The Salvation Army this holiday season
Coshocton Salvation Army seeks volunteers and donations for red kettles, Angel Tree gifts, Christmas Castle and local families in need
The Christmas season can be especially difficult for families who might already be struggling. If you are looking for ways to help, The Salvation Army has several programs that are always in need of volunteers or donations.
According to Corina Stein, envoy in charge of The Coshocton Salvation Army, volunteers are needed to ring the bell at the red kettles set up around the community. “Every penny or dollar dropped into those kettles helps us stay open year round.”
Walmart has an Angel Tree set up. Angels can be chosen from the tree with specific items a local child wants. These are for children under the age of 5, and gifts must be returned to Walmart by Friday, Dec. 12.
Donations for the Christmas Castle warm clothes shopping event can be made through WTNS Radio or at The Salvation Army. Mark your donations “Christmas Castle” to be sure your donation is used for this project. All donations for the Christmas Castle project will be used to invite children to Walmart to pick out warm clothes for this winter.
Nonperishable food items are always accepted at The Salvation Army.
For questions about the programs, to make a donation or to sign up to be a volunteer, call The Salvation Army at 740-622-0971.
