Families enjoy start of holiday season
Miracle on Main Street Parade, tree lighting and new ice rink draw crowds as Coshocton kicks off Christmas festivities
To kick off the Christmas holiday season, Our Town Coshocton's Miracle on Main Street Parade was held Nov. 21.
The parade started at the county fairgrounds, traveled north on Seventh Street and down Main Street to Court Square. Downtown businesses and store windows were decked out with holiday lights and decorations. Following the parade was the Court Square tree lighting and singing in the gazebo.
The new ice skating rink on the square was open from 5-9 p.m. with the Junior Women's Club serving hot chocolate donated by Coshocton Regional Medical Center along with free Christmas cookies donated by the Coffee Connection.
The first courthouse light show began after the parade and will continue weeknights and Sundays from 5:30-9 p.m. and Saturdays from 5:30-10 p.m. through Jan. 11.
Rhett Lingo enjoyed one of the Christmas cookies while he waited for the parade to start with his dad Trace Lingo. This is his first parade, but he saw the Grinch already, he said.
What started out as light rain ended in a pretty good shower, but people still stayed to enjoy the holiday festivities.
