Coshocton Library launches adult summer challenge
Courthouse Downs fundraiser set for May 2
Coshocton event to support holiday light show improvements at the courthouse
The community is invited to an evening of racing, fun and community spirit Saturday, May 2 for the second Courthouse Downs, Gallop for the Glow Fundraiser. All money raised will be used for additional lighting needs for the Coshocton Courthouse holiday light show. The event will be held at the Coshocton Community Room on Chestnut Street.
Tickets are $50 each and include dinner and a specialty drink ticket. You also can purchase a table for $500. There will be bourbon tastings and a silent auction. Everyone is encouraged to dress up, watch the Kentucky Derby and enjoy a night at the races. Tickets can be purchased on the Courthouse Illumination Project Facebook page.
Mary Beck, administrator/project manager for the Coshocton County Commissioners, said they have several lighting improvements in mind for the funds.
“We need to upgrade the electrical in the clock tower as we have had some issues with tripping breakers. This will allow us to expand the lighting in that area as well. We want to do some animated trees on the Court Square, and we plan to light the roof of the gazebo with a possible star on top,” Beck said.
Beck said this is a short list for improvements for this year, depending on the amount of money that is raised.
“We always appreciate our community’s goodwill and support for this project,” Beck said.
The committee would like to extend its appreciation and thanks to the sponsors who have donated to the fundraiser: Granger, Genesis Coshocton, McWane Ductile, Standard Power and William Albert Inc.
