Coshocton teams secure decisive victories

Coshocton boys pull away in fourth quarter

A clutch fourth-quarter performance helped Coshocton pull away late and secure a 59-52 victory over New Lexington in The Wigwam.

The game was a defensive struggle early, with Coshocton trailing 21-19 at halftime. The Redskins stayed patient and continued to battle after the break, evening the score at 30-30 heading into the final quarter.

Coshocton’s offense came alive down the stretch, fueled by Champ Haley, who finished with a team-high 19 points. Haley was especially effective in the fourth quarter, scoring 11 points and going 9-for-10 from the free-throw line to help seal the win.

The Redskins were 14-for-17 at the stripe in the final eight minutes.

Mason Williams added 12 points while Kash Murphy contributed 11 as three Redskins reached double figures. Coshocton built its lead to as many as 13 points late in the game.

New Lexington made a late run, cutting the deficit to six in the final minute, but the Redskins remained composed and closed out the victory at the foul line.

Coshocton also picked up a win in the junior varsity contest, defeating New Lexington 51-43.

Tumblin erupts for 31 as Lady Redskins close season

Zoey Tumblin saved one of her best performances for the finale, pouring in 31 points to lead the Coshocton Lady Redskins to a 73-47 win over Genoa Christian Academy.

Coshocton set the tone early and never looked back. The Lady Redskins built a commanding 39-21 lead by halftime, fueled by a balanced offensive attack and steady defensive pressure that limited Genoa Christian’s opportunities.

Tumblin was electric throughout the night and received strong support from Lillie Braxton, who added 13 points, and Ari Snyder, who chipped in 12 as Coshocton maintained control in the second half.

With the win Coshocton closes out the 2025-26 season with a 12-4 record.
