Coshocton Library launches adult summer challenge
Coshocton kids art class explores still life
Fourth to eighth graders can join a painting session March 21 at Emanuel Lutheran Church
The Coshocton Art Guild will have another kids class for students in fourth grade through eighth grade.
Still Life Painting will be held from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, March 21 at Emanuel Lutheran Church, 1500 Pleasant Valley Drive, Coshocton. The cost is $20 and includes all materials.
Host Jodi Gwin will explain that still lives are everyday objects arranged for visual appeal using light and shadow to reveal form and texture with a visual focal point using elements of color, value and contrast. Artists known for this method include Paul Cezanne, Vincent Van Gogh, Clara Peeters, Frida Kahlo and Ray Lichtenstein.
Prompts will be provided, or attendees can bring their own. Sign up at the Tollhouse Arts Gifts in person or by mail to 408 Whitewoman St., Coshocton, OH 43812. One also can sign up with Venmo @coshoctonartguild-408. Put "still life" in the note section.
