Cornhole tournament honors Rick Haines’ legacy at Coshocton County Fair
Event draws 33 teams and raises funds for Haines’ son’s 4-H project; organizers plan to continue tradition with future scholarships for junior fair members.
A cornhole tournament was held Sept. 28 at the county fair in honor of Rick Haines, who passed away in December 2024.
“He was very active with the Coshocton County Fair and area youth for a number of years,” his brother Randy Haines said. “We want to keep my brother’s memory alive. Time is precious.”
Senior fair board member Dakota Seitz helped put the tournament together.
“We put it together this year for Aiden, his son, to help put extra money on his fat steer at the auction,” Seitz said.
Thirty-three teams signed up for the tournament, and Seitz and Randy Haines hoped they could raise from $800-$1,000.
“We’d like to keep it going and try to do scholarships for junior fair board members,” Randy Haines said.
