Sines hired as Sandy Valley volleyball coach for 2026-27 season
A Sandy Valley graduate and East Sparta native, Sines has served as an assistant volleyball coach since June 2025
Sandy Valley High School has hired Alyssa Sines as head volleyball coach for the 2026-27 school year.
A Sandy Valley graduate and East Sparta native, Sines has served as an assistant volleyball coach since June 2025, working with varsity and junior varsity athletes. Her duties have included assisting with practices, player development and team preparation.
“Alyssa will be a great fit for our Cardinal volleyball program,” Athletic Director Beau Balderson said. “She has already shown her dedication and leadership as an assistant coach, and we are confident she is ready to step into the role of head coach.”
Sines graduated from Sandy Valley in 2017 and is pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing and sales from Western Governors University, with an expected graduation in May.
“It is always special when our graduates return to Sandy Valley to give back,” Superintendent Matt Whitted said. “We are excited to see Alyssa take the lead of our volleyball program and continue building on its success.”
Sines also has been part of the Sandy Valley softball program since January 2022, serving as JV and assistant varsity softball coach. From August 2023 through October 2024, she also volunteered as a middle school and high school volleyball coach.
