Minerva’s Roxy Theatre will present a screening of "Hocus Pocus" along with a costume party Saturday, Oct. 11, at 7 p.m.

Doors open at 6:15 p.m. The costume contest begins at 7 p.m., followed by the film. Guests are encouraged to dress as their favorite Sanderson sister or any other character from the movie for a chance to win prizes. Awards will be given for both group and individual costumes.

Released in 1993, "Hocus Pocus" is a fantasy comedy directed by Kenny Ortega and written by Neil Cuthbert and Mick Garris. The film tells the story of Max Dennison, a Halloween-hating teenager who inadvertently resurrects three witches, played by Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy. With help from his sister, Dani, a classmate, a friendly zombie and an immortal black cat, Max must defeat the witches to save his town.

Tickets are $5 for children 12 and younger and $8 for regular admission.

Minerva’s Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area will be in effect for the evening. Patrons may purchase beverages in official DORA cups from the Normandy Inn, Stoney Inn, Que Pasa Mexican Restaurant and Sandy Springs Brewing Company and carry them throughout the designated area, including into the Roxy. Concessions will also be available at the theater.
