Robb Blasdel highlights start of fall hunting season
State Representative Monica Robb Blasdel, who represents Carroll County, said September officially marks the beginning of Ohio’s fall hunting season.
“Hunting is a proud tradition in Ohio that brings families and friends together each fall,” said Robb Blasdel. “I encourage hunters to enjoy a safe and responsible season as we kick off this year’s fall hunting opportunities.”
The 2025 Ohio hunting season opening dates are as follows:
Monday, Sept. 1
— Squirrel (fox, red and gray)
— Dove
— Rail (Virginia and sora)
— Snipe
— Gallinule
Saturday, Sept. 6
— Early Canada goose (through Sunday, Sept. 14)
— Early teal (blue-winged and green-winged; through Sunday, Sept. 14)
Saturday, Sept. 27
— Deer archery
Additionally, House Bill 64 — legislation championed by members of the Ohio House Majority Caucus — lowers the age to 65 for Ohioans to qualify for senior discounts on hunting, fishing and other sportsmen’s licenses. The bill takes effect Sept. 30, just in time for deer hunting season.
