Rep. Monica Robb Blasdel highlights Ohio tourism’s $57 billion impact

Atwood Lake Park offers renovated campsites, cabins, boating, fishing and hiking opportunities.

State parks, historic sites and local destinations like Atwood Lake and Beaver Creek helped attract 240 million visitors in 2024, supporting thousands of businesses statewide.

State Rep. Monica Robb Blasdel, R-New Waterford, announced that Ohio’s tourism industry welcomed more than 240 million visitors in 2024, generating more than $57 billion in revenue and supporting thousands of businesses statewide, according to the Ohio Department of Development.

Robb Blasdel, who represents Carroll County and serves on the House Arts, Athletics and Tourism Committee, said Ohio’s natural beauty and historic landmarks continue to draw visitors.

“Our state parks and historic sites are treasures for residents and visitors alike. We encourage everyone to explore these unique destinations and enjoy all our great state has to offer,” Robb Blasdel said.

She noted that Ohio offers a range of attractions, from national parks and monuments to restaurants, wineries and museums.

Robb Blasdel also highlighted several destinations in her district, including:

— Beaver Creek State Park, a 2,722-acre park in Columbiana County with remnants of the historic Sandy and Beaver Canal.

— Hellbender Bluff County Park, a 732-acre park in Lisbon with trails for hiking and biking.

— Atwood Lake Park, which offers renovated campsites, cabins, boating, fishing and hiking opportunities.

TourismOhio, a division of the Ohio Department of Development, works to promote the state’s attractions as destinations for adventure, opportunity and community, she said.
