Minerva athletes, coaches honored with EBC awards after standout fall season

Lions celebrate four conference titles, multiple first-team selections and five Coach of the Year honors at annual banquet

Several Minerva High School athletes and coaches were recognized for their outstanding performances during the fall sports season at the Eastern Buckeye Conference fall banquet held Nov. 11 at the Harvesting Hope Community Center in Sebring.

Minerva Schools Superintendent Mark Scott said the evening celebrated an exceptional season for the Lions, who claimed four EBC championships — in boys golf, girls golf, boys cross-country and girls cross-country.

“The success continued across other programs,” Scott said. “The volleyball team earned 14 victories, and the girls soccer team secured nine wins. The varsity football team laid a strong foundation for the future with a five-win season — the most victories for Lion football in a decade.

“The team’s achievements were matched by a long list of individual honors, including multiple First Team EBC awards, five Coach of the Year honors and two Player/Runner of the Year awards. Congratulations to the following award winners.”
