Malvern’s Boy Scout Troop 155 made its 13th trip to Haliburton Scout Reserve in Ontario, Canada’s largest Scout camp, from June 27 to July 6.

During the seven days at camp, Scouts rock climbed, rappelled, fished, studied the stars from the middle of the lake, sailed, shot .22 rifles, practiced archery, swam and spent much of their time canoeing. The troop also visited the Haliburton Woods Wolf Center to see a pack of wolves and climbed a fire tower overlooking the town of Dysart.

On July 4 the troop celebrated Independence Day by raising a large American flag at their campsite. Scouts also played a weeklong version of the TV show Survivor. On July 5, they left camp and traveled to Niagara Falls on the Canadian side before crossing back into the United States.

Later in the summer, from July 20 to 26, the troop attended Seven Ranges Scout Reservation, where they earned merit badges and enjoyed evening campfires. Two Scouts, Karsen Farmer and Anderson Myers, were tapped for the Order of the Arrow honor society.

The troop’s Summer Court was held Aug. 2 at the home of John Campbell. Good Turn patches were awarded by Robb Kenny to Greg Hold, Anderson Myers, Karsen Farmer, Luke Miday, Parker Babiczuk, Hudson Crater, Thomas Friedman, Levi Crawford, Josh Rhiel, John Campbell and Rob Kenny.
