Lewis, Palmer selected for FFA Blue Jacket Program
Two first-year Carrollton FFA members earn iconic jackets through statewide initiative
The Blue Jacket Program is one of the many opportunities offered by the National FFA Organization and the Ohio FFA Association to first-year members, including this year’s Carrollton recipients, Luci Lewis and Mallaree Palmer. Participants complete an application and respond to several questions, and selected students receive their first official FFA jacket.
This year, 366 students were chosen statewide in Ohio. The Carrollton FFA chapter submitted 15 applications with two members selected for the honor. Lewis is the daughter of Nicole Terpstra, and Palmer is the daughter of Carly and Benjamin Palmer.
The jackets were presented by Austin Manning, Ohio FFA reporter from Morehead State University, during the chapter’s November meeting.
