Early Voting in Carroll County Begins Oct. 4 for General Election

Voters can cast ballots at the courthouse, request absentee ballots or use curbside voting ahead of the Nov. 4 election.

Early voting for the Nov. 4 general election begins Tuesday, Oct. 4, to elect village council members, board of education members and two trustee seats from each of Carroll County’s 14 townships.

The Carroll County Board of Elections office, located on the ground floor of the courthouse in Carrollton, will be open for early voting Tuesday through Friday, Oct. 7-10, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The office will be closed Monday, Oct. 13, in observance of Columbus Day. Hours will continue 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 14-17 and Oct. 20-24; Monday, Oct. 27, 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.; Tuesday, Oct. 28, 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.; Wednesday through Friday, Oct. 29-31, 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.; Saturday, Nov. 1, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and Sunday, Nov. 2, 1-5 p.m.

Absentee ballots will be mailed beginning Tuesday, Oct. 7. To receive an absentee ballot, voters must complete and return an absentee ballot application, according to Deloris Kean, director of elections. Applications may be requested from the Board of Elections office, online at the Ohio secretary of state’s website at www.ohiosos.gov, or at the Board of Elections website at www.boe.ohio.gov/carroll.

The deadline to return an application is 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 28, either to the office or via the secure drop box. Voted ballots must be returned to the Board of Elections office postmarked no later than Nov. 3, or delivered in person to the drop box at the Second Street SE entrance of the courthouse no later than 7:30 p.m. on Election Day.

Curbside voting also will be available for those unable to enter the office physically. Access is through the alley on the north side of the courthouse, off the square. For more information, call the Board of Elections office at 330-627-2610.
