Carroll County Regional Planning seeks citizen members for three open seats
Volunteer, unpaid three-year terms; applications due Oct. 31 with elections at the Nov. 4 meeting at 7 p.m.
The Carroll County Regional Planning Commission is accepting applications for new citizen members. Three seats are currently open, and each carries a three-year term. The positions are voluntary and unpaid.
The commission meets quarterly on the first Tuesday of January, April, August and November at the Village of Carrollton Municipal Building. Special meetings may be called as needed. Elections for citizen members will take place at the November meeting.
The planning commission’s purpose is to assist in the orderly development of property within Carroll County. It oversees subdivision regulations, the county’s comprehensive plan, and the county house numbering system. The commission also reviews and approves minor land subdivisions under five acres, variances from regulations and planned major subdivisions to ensure they follow proper development guidelines.
Applications are available at the Regional Planning Office on the second floor of the courthouse, by contacting Interim Director Melissa Schaar at 330-627-4869 or by email at mschaar@carrollcountyohio.us.
Applications can also be found online at www.carrollcountyohio.us/agencies-and-departments/regional-planning-commission.
The deadline to submit applications is Friday, Oct. 31. Applicants are asked to attend the commission’s Nov. 4, meeting at 7 p.m. to meet members and be present for the election.
Anyone interested or with questions should contact Schaar for more information.
