New cases filed  

U.S. Bank Trust National Association of Salt Lake City, Utah, has filed a complaint for foreclosure against Eugene M. and Mary E. Scott of 310 E. Carrollton St., Magnolia, seeking judgment for $77,164.12 due on a promissory note for $73,950 executed Aug. 17, 2000. 

Huntington National Bank of Columbus has filed a complaint for money judgment against David M. Tinlin of 404 High St. NW, Carrollton, seeking judgment for $10,731 due on a personal loan agreement for $15,170 executed June 16, 2024. 

Michelle Ballis, anonymous address, has filed a petition for a domestic violence civil protection order against George Ballis of 673 E. Fillmore Ave., East Aurora, N.Y.; temporary protection order issued until Dec. 12 and full hearing on petition set for Nov. 26. 

John and Kaaren Grodhaus Sr. of 221 N. Lynwood Dr., Magnolia, have filed a complaint alleging negligence and loss of consortium against Crowl Lumber Co. Inc. of 222 W. Main St., Malvern, and Danmar Properties LLC, c/o Robert D. Crowl of 325 W. Main St., Malvern. Plaintiffs are seeking judgment in excess of $25,000 for injuries and damages they allegedly sustained involving a fall by John when he tripped over a dark-colored object propping open a door while shopping at Crowl Lumber on July 22, 2024. 

Criminal cases 

Linkon J. Sealock, 26, of 375 4th Dr. NW, New Philadelphia, has entered a not guilty plea to a Nov. 5 indictment charging him with strangulation and domestic violence. The defendant was released on a $50,000 recognizance bond, and the case was continued to Nov. 20 for a pretrial. 

Teresa M. Harford, 53, of 415 Clay St. NW, Malvern, has been released on a $25,000 recognizance bond involving a Nov. 5 indictment charging her with possession of cocaine and drug paraphernalia offenses. The case was continued to Nov. 20 for a hearing. 

Workers’ compensation case dismissed 

The workers’ compensation case filed July 15, 2024, by Kimberley A. Maurice of 41 E. Main St., Apt. A, Carrollton, vs. Carrollton Management Restaurant at 160 W. Main St., Carrollton, has been settled and dismissed. 

Divorces granted 

A divorce filed July 10, 2025, by Tierra M. Erden of 1155 N. Lisbon St., Carrollton, vs. Eric L. Erden of 219 Park Ave. NW, Canton, has been granted to each party due to incompatibility. 

A divorce has been granted on the grounds of incompatibility in the divorce action filed Oct. 1, 2024, by Mark A. Watts of 1162 Cobbler Rd. NE, Carrollton, vs. Brittanie R. Watts, also known as Brittanie R. Hartman, of 2100 Cactus Rd. NW, Carrollton; wife restored to her maiden name of Hartman. 

Judgment granted 

Freedom Mortgage Corp. of Fishers, Ind., has been granted judgment for $49,579.57 in a foreclosure action filed Jan. 14, 2025, against Dyllan E. Shirley of 405 Gween Dr., Malvern, et al. 

Other civil actions dismissed 

The other civil action filed June 13, 2025, by Scott A. Enold of 5766 Distant View Place, Parker, Colo., vs. Garidit E. and Jason F. Khayat of Williamsville, N.Y., has been dismissed on a motion of the plaintiff. 

The other civil action filed May 16, 2025, by Bank National Association of Independence, Ohio, doing business as Elan Financial Services, vs. Jennifer R. Jones of 400 Queen St., Minerva, has been dismissed at the request of the plaintiff. 

Foreclosure actions dismissed 

The foreclosure action filed May 8, 2025, by Citizens Bank of Glen Allen, Va., vs. Traci L. and Brandon J. Nemenz of 8047 Marigold Rd. NE, Kensington, et al., has been dismissed on a motion of the plaintiff. 

The foreclosure action filed Jan. 21, 2025, by Carrington Mortgage Services LLC of Anaheim, Calif., vs. Roy L. and Rebecca D. Ford of 7235 Wicker Rd. NW, Malvern, et al., has been voluntarily dismissed on a motion of the plaintiff. 

Protection order issued 

A protection order has been issued until Nov. 6, 2030, against Ross D. Gilnar, c/o Noble Correctional Institution at Caldwell, involving a domestic violence/stalking petition filed Oct. 27 by Christine R. Grim, anonymous address.
