The 54th annual Algonquin Mill Fall Festival will kick off Friday, Oct. 10, and run through Sunday, Oct. 12.

In preparation for the upcoming three-day Mill Festival, four volunteer ladies are shown working on a Lone Star quilt for Leigh Ann Rutledge. Pictured clockwise are Cora Roberts, Kirsten Carpenter, Ava Mowery and Clara Miday.

Located on state Route 332, approximately five miles south of Carrollton, the three-day event, sponsored by the Carroll County Historical Society, is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. It features a pioneer village setting, antique attractions, musical entertainment, old-fashioned food, including a daily breakfast with serving starting at 7:30 a.m., and quality crafters and demonstrations.

The pioneer village setting includes log cabins, an antique print shop, a one-room schoolhouse, a steam-driven flouring mill, sawmill and shingle mill, NYC Railroad station, HO model layout, log stagecoach inn and a well-stocked bookstore.

Antique attractions feature tools, steam engines, machinery, power shows and tractors, Carroll County artifacts and genealogical information, spinning, weaving and other fiber arts, horse-drawn wagon rides, an antique car cruise-in Saturday and Sunday, and an art and photo show in the barn.
